MINI PROJECT (BEHIND THE MAKING)

Each group was assigned to commit a mini project based on each creativity. Our group was decided first to make souvenirs that basically based on plant culture. However, due to limited time, we needed to cancel the decision and turn to other plan since some of our group members were busy completing their final year project. Hence, we decided to make a herbarium from seaweed and seagrass.
On 15th November 2016, our group and Seaweed's group made a plan to go for a sampling at Negeri Sembilan. We split into 2 locations which were Teluk Kemang and Teluk Pelanduk. Our group chose to sampling at Teluk Pelanduk. Due to other commitments, only 2 of our group members were able to sampling there. We went there at 11.30 a.m and reached at Teluk Pelanduk at 12.45 p.m. We started sampling at 1.15 p.m since there was low tide at that time. We finished sampling at 3 p.m. However, there was a few species of seagrass and seaweed there. We could only collect padina minor, halophila ovalis, gracilaria changii, acanthophora spicifera and thalassia hemprichii. Once we arrived UPM, we immediately compress the samples in newspaper and let it dried for 2 nights. Then, we dried it in the oven. Once the samples were dried, we stick the samples onto A4 paper to make herbarium. Here are some pictures of our herbarium:

We compiled the herbarium and put them in an envelope. Then, we gave the herbarium as a present to our beloved lecturer, Dr. Natrah :) Hopefully Dr will like it even though it was not as perfect as others.
